Belousov-Kernel Series
A sibling experiment lineage to the Bio-Kernel Series, on a different substrate. Where Bio-Kernel (eco-N.N) climbs toward endogenous ignition from an agent-based ecosystem, the Belousov-Kernel Series (bzk-N.N) climbs toward the same telos from an excitable-medium field — the cellular-automaton analogue of the Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction in a thin Petri-dish layer.
The two lineages share the destination — moving persistence from exogenous cabling into endogenous closure — and traverse it from orthogonal starting substrates. They do not share a namespace: bzk-N.N is parallel to eco-N.N, not nested in it, and BZK is distinct from Bio-Kernel's BK. They do share a substrate neighborhood: both run on Duncan's Neighborhood, in which one cell influences another by distance alone, never direction — so the lattice supplies no preferred axis and an excitable wave that should be round comes out round, not square.
BZK — Belousov-Kernel Series. Origin: the excitable-medium / Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction (thin-layer Petri-dish waves — nucleation followed by autocatalytic propagation). Telos: endogenous ignition and maintenance — carrying an excitable substrate across the SOV line from attractlet-class trigger waves into recursive closure. Baseline classification: Stage A is attractlet-class (externally fed; dies without feed). Axes: stage suffix -A / -B / -C (ladder rungs toward sovereignty, never reused); variant suffix a short descriptive tag. Distinctness: BZK ≠ BK (Bio-Kernel); bzk-N.N is a distinct lineage from eco-N.N. A Belousov nucleation is a T0-P+T0-σ threshold-triggered wave — not a kernel IST-ignition (I-Pop); conflating the two is the BAEP category error this lineage exists to work against.

BZK 1.0 → The Excitable Baseline (Stage A)
A Greenberg–Hastings-style excitable cellular automaton reproducing the BZ phenomenon: nucleation at pacemaker sites followed by autocatalytic target/spiral propagation. Classified honestly as attractlet-class (T0-P+T0-σ; externally fed; relaxes without feed).
